About me...

I have always had an interest in gardens, and from an early age I have been practical and capable of DIY projects. This expanded into the garden when I got my first house. Over the years I have undertaken numerous large tasks, such as installing my own patio, dwarf walls, decking, pergola, pond, and even a stream !

Before I became a professional landscaper, I have had two other careers. I left school straight into an apprenticeship with BT. Many of the skills I use today were picked up at BT. After 15 years, I took voluntary redundancy, and having re-trained as a computer programmer, and managed to land a position with Barclays Bank. Spent ten years doing that, but with an increasing longing to do something more practical and outdoors. I decided that it was time to take the plunge into landscaping. I did a course in garden design, to add to my existing practical skills. My knowledge of plants and shrubs had been steadily growing, through my own experiences in doing mine, friends and families gardens. Whilst I was still at Barclays, at weekends and days off I was doing a complete garden from start to finish for a friend. The feedback I was getting was extremely positive, and this gave me the confidence to quit my programming job. That was four years ago, and the business has gone from strength to strength. Most of my work comes from "word of mouth", from customers who are satisfied with what I do. This has to be the best endorsement.

Outside of work I have several interests, the main one being music. I am in 2 different duos performing live music....

I have 2 fantastic children, Amy (19) & Daniel (16). I still play 5 - a - side football, when I'm not too tired with working. Love to go walking. Recently done Snowdon, Hellvellyn, and planning to do Ben Nevis and Scafell this year.
